Michael Martin started his theatre career way back in the first grade in a production about the moon landing made by his teacher. Unfortunately, this led to a bit of a dry spell, Mikey didn’t do theatre until his sophomore year of high school in which he starred in a production of Disney's Mary Poppins; he would use this as a jumping point for the rest of his life. He became enthralled with theatre, doing as many shows as he could. Student written shows, taking the drama courses, you name it, Mikey was doing it. This led to him playing Pugsley Addams in the fall musical of The Addams Family. During his Senior year he got to play the role of Freddy Eynsford-Hill in a production of My Fair Lady, this year would be cut short due to the introduction of COVID-19 a week before the next show opened, Puffs. Mikey used this time to look into other companies that were doing online shows, this is where he found Village Theatre KIDSTAGE of Issaquah. He would then go to audition for the show Tuck Everlasting where he would get the role of Hugo Jackson. Mikey decided to keep auditioning for Village Theatre's KIDSTAGE productions, the next of which would be Urinetown. Mikey has since been attending Western Washington University and majoring in Theatre with a focus in Performance and Education. Mikey has gone through the main performance track, working with professors Dr. Rich Brown, Evan Mueller, Eva Gil, and many more. Before his last year he auditioned for the 400's series, after the acceptance Mikey started pursuing the advanced track to further his theatre education. Mikey has also been studying Theatre for Young Audiences and pedagogy under Dr. Christina Gutierrez-Dennehy. His vison is to create more equitable and anti-racist spaces to allow kids and young adults to feel safe and explore themselves as artists.
